Fundraising Events & Activities
The Foundation has taken over and continues the fund raising events already in place and has assumed responsibility for planning additional fundraisers to help preserve the Depot building.
There are two annual events whose proceeds go directly to the Depot Restoration project:
The Annual Cotton Belt Depot Cash Giveaway: Tickets are sold for $100.00 per ticket admitting 2 persons for a steak dinner with all the trimmings and drinks. Local businesses donate items for silent and live auctions. A $10,000 award is given to the person holding the last ticket drawn for the evening.
The Annual Spurfest Classic Golf Tournament: Held annually in conjunction with the Gatesville Spurfest, this tournament draws a large number of teams. Gifts and tournament prizes and $1,500 payout to the winning team.
